I am Barry Waite from Massachusetts. My yoga practice stemmed from two things, 1. as we age we lose flexibility, balance and strength and ultimately our “big fall” is our demise, 2. I was getting tired of being sore every time I tried something new that used “muscles I had never used before.” I stumbled into a yoga class about ten years ago, I left drenched in sweat, completely wrung out, invigorated and energized in a way that no other workout had done before. The next day I was in pain from the eyelids down because I had truly worked every muscle “I had never used before,” but knew this was the answer. Over the past three years, I have tried to establish a practice that builds strength and flexibility. I am not a vegan, I am not looking for spiritual guidance, I am not sure “I can breathe from my pelvic floor,” so the Man Flow approach more than meets the physical and psychological drivers that challenge and motivate me, and also has given me the tools to help balance the stresses in my life and actually helped me recover from “my big fall.” I became a Manbassador to break the yoga stigmas and show those men afraid to stretch that yoga is cool.
