How I Accidentally Discovered Yoga
(And Changed My Life Forever)

My yoga story began completely by accident. It was 2012, and I was a collegiate lacrosse player on my way to get a pair of pants tailored. Somehow, I walked straight into a yoga studio instead.

At first, I thought yoga was soft, too feminine, and probably wouldn’t be challenging enough for someone like me – an athlete who thrived on intense workouts. Plus, the spiritual stuff didn’t resonate. But since I was already there, I figured, why not?

Halfway through that class, reality hit me hard. Sweat poured down my face, my muscles trembled, and my body refused to cooperate. I had never felt so humbled. Here I was, thinking I was in peak condition, yet yoga revealed glaring weaknesses: tightness, instability, and a shocking lack of flexibility.

But instead of feeling defeated, I felt a spark ignite. If yoga was this hard, it could also make me incredibly strong. I dove in headfirst, practicing five times a week, feeling stronger, more flexible, and more agile than ever before.

Yet, as transformative as yoga was, something was missing.

How I Built the Yoga Program Men Actually Wanted

I discovered early on that while traditional yoga offers incredible benefits, many classes weren’t tailored to the way men move and train.

After searching for a program like that, I realized it didn’t really exist. So I decided to create it myself. I started a YouTube channel and began filming simple, approachable workouts right from my college apartment – yoga designed for men who wanted the benefits without feeling out of place.

But I quickly discovered something unexpected: most of the guys tuning in weren’t 20-something athletes like me. They were men in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. Guys who were once active but had seen life get in the way – long work hours, raising families, aches and pains creeping up slowly until even basic movements became difficult.

The more I listened, the clearer the mission became. These guys didn’t just want a workout – they needed an approach that met them exactly where they were.

But Don’t Just Take My Word for It –
Hear From Men Just Like You

“I knew pretty much after my first workout that like this is what it was gonna be. I wanted something that was straightforward to the point, would help me get to my goals in the first like 3 months I lost like 40 pounds. My entire fitness journey the past 2 years, I attribute directly to starting with Man Flow Yoga.

“Man Flow Yoga was a great way to both gain muscle strength, gain flexibility, and prevent a lot of the injuries that one experiences when they start training really hard, really fast. Yeah,l love yoga, but I mean I really missed weight lifting. And I can definitely tell a difference in the cross training with that as well.

“I discovered that the best way to stave off the effects of diabetes is to have maintained muscle mass and have very active muscles. […] I get kind of emotional talking about this because because of the changes I’ve been able to make, and flexibility in learning how to move, I feel like I’m more alive and awake. So it really has enriched my life in those kinds of ways.

“I was able to increase my flexibility probably within the first month or so of doing Man Flow Yoga. I had started with being able to do a fold and basically getting my hands just past my knees and probably by end of the month, I was able to get my hands down on the ground. I am watching my body change. I can see that I’m dropping the weight, I’ve lost about 25 pounds.

“Man Flow Yoga has really helped me reach my personal goals in that it gives me a place to return daily and to build consistency. Now, I surprise myself when I find out the things that I’m capable of doing. Something I got out of the workouts that I wasn’t expecting was mental clarity and fortitude. Those little gems have really helped me in everyday life.

“I had a bike accident in 2007 where I broke my left elbow. And so building up my strength on my left side has always been my challenge now and having to use an elbow that has about 95% mobility. Man Flow Yoga helped me re-establish the trength in my left side and helped me really utilize the left side of my body because not just my elbow, it’s my shoulder, it was my ligaments and my hand.
