Man Flow Yoga - Holiday Challenge 2018

The Man Flow Yoga Holiday Challenge 2018

Introducing a Challenge that works with your Holiday schedule. This flexible 1-month program is a balanced fitness routine to be strong, feel great, and manage your stress over the Holidays.

Quick Summary:

  • 4 Weeks: Start Monday, December 3; End Monday, December 31
  • 3 workouts per week, flexible schedule (do it whenever you can)
  • Beginner-friendly workouts, 30-40 minutes in length
  • Minimal equipment required – yoga mat, block, strap, & resistance bands
  • Low-impact, longevity-focused workouts for full body strength, flexibility, & mobility
  • A balanced fitness routine to be strong, feel great, and manage your stress over the Holidays.

At best, you’ll build strength, increase your flexibility, and improve your overall fitness. At worst, you’ll maintain your fitness levels and be ready to hit the ground running for New Years Fitness resolutions.

Man Flow Yoga - Holiday Challenge 2018

Let’s face it – with work, travel, and family obligations, you’re not going to be able to do 6 workouts per week during the Holiday season. On top of that, you probably won’t have regular access to your typical workout equipment or classes.

Don’t set yourself up with high expectations, only to be disappointed when you are unable to stick to your scheduled workout program. This doesn’t mean giving up on our fitness entirely. It just means scaling back our expectations.

This Holiday season, let’s commit to:

  • Stay moderately active.
  • Complete a few workouts per week.
  • Maintain (and maybe even improve!) our fitness [avoid starting from scratch in January]
  • Do the movements & exercise we need to feel good throughout the Holiday season.
  • Take time for our fitness to manage stress [so we don’t take it out on our relatives]

This fits in perfectly with my Pre-Holiday PSA , entitled Avoid The Holiday Trap, which is all about not falling into that Holiday mindset in which we give up on fitness for the month. From the beginning of December until January 1st, my goal for you is the following:

  • 3 workouts per week (at least 30 minutes)
  • 1 movement-based activity on a daily basis (walking, mobility work, stretching, etc)

The Man Flow Yoga Holiday Challenge helps you achieve this. You’ll have 3 weekly workouts which you can do whenever your schedule allows. Each workout is an effective, intense (but still beginner-friendly) workout to get your body the fitness it needs within a one-week period, and feel guilt-free on your days off.

The workouts can be done anytime and anywhere, with very minimal equipment, each one lasting ~30 minutes. Over the course of the week we’ll work on the strength and flexibility of your entire body, including the mobility work required to keep your back feeling strong, and the pulling exercises you need to keep your shoulders feeling great. The workouts will energize you for the day, and you’ll be satisfied and sore the day afterwards.

And there are bonus benefits that go beyond exercise-related fitness! It will also help you to:

  • Be more mindful of what you eat & drink.
  • Sleep better and have more energy.
  • Keep stress levels low (at a stressful time of year)
  • Avoid aches and pains that come from inactivity
  • Have an excuse for alone time over the Holidays

So what do you say? Ready for the Holiday Challenge?
