The fastest way to improve mobility on your own is through self-myofascial release. Here are my favorite techniques to improve mobility in your chest and arms, using a few different mobility tools.
Use this video as a tutorial, and not as a workout to follow. Learn the different techniques, figure out which ones work best for you, and use them often. I do not recommend spending more than 1-2 minutes in any one particular area. Your goal is not to eliminate the muscle knot entirely, but to massage it to the point where some tension has been released and the recovery process is initiated.
