First off, I do want to say that learning proper form and technique is more important than learning how to breathe properly. Breathing properly is the 2nd step that will help you stay in the pose, extend it, and control it. However, if you didn’t know what muscles to engage and how to be in the pose at all, breathing won’t help. The important thing about breathing during yoga or really any exercise is to breathe from your diaphragm or belly breathing as some say.
