"Getting back in shape shouldn’t feel like fighting your own body."

Brian joined Man Flow Yoga in his 50s after a long rough patch. The old workouts weren’t working anymore—and pushing harder just wasn’t the answer. What did work? A practice he could actually stick with. Now he’s: (1) Back to boxing (2) Lifting weights twice a week (3)Training consistently without beating himself up.

My primary reason for joining Man Flow Yoga is that in my 50s, I hit an eight to 10-year rough patch. When I came out of that time, I found I had really backslid on my fitness, and I’d also been aging during that time. And in trying to get back to regular fitness, I found the old ways just weren’t working for me anymore. Man Flow Yoga helped me by bringing me back to a regular fitness practice, something that I could sustain, something I could do consistently.

It’s a practice that’s workable for my body and also something that’s workable for my life. I’m back to doing boxing training once a week, working with the heavy bag. I’m now lifting weights twice a week for my upper body, and these are things that I know that I’ll be able to stay with. Man Flow Yoga has taught me about consistency and sustainability. It’s taught me how to do these things without injuring myself, and it’s taught me what to do if and when I do injure myself, how to work my way back up to keeping with these exercises regularly.

If you want a practice that’s realistic, if you want a practice that’s sustainable, if you want a practice that you can continue to do for your entire life, even as your body changes, then Man Flow Yoga is for you. And come join us and come join our community.

Runner. Hiker. Regular Guy.

“I stopped getting leg cramps when I run. My joints feel better. And my recovery time is way shorter.”

That’s Kevin. Long-time Man Flow Yoga member. Runner. Hiker. Regular guy who wanted to keep doing the stuff he loves, without his body holding him back. Here’s what changed: Less joint pain, even with more running; Faster recovery between workouts; More strength and mobility for hiking and everyday life; Better focus, more energy, less stress.

Man Flow Yoga has helped me tremendously. I no longer have any leg cramps when I run. I was having some joint pain, among other things, the more I ran and the more yoga I did, I realized that my recovery time was a lot less. It helped me continue down the fitness journey to level up that next level that I never thought I would. So it’s been great as a tool in my belt to continue doing things fitness-wise that I want to do, hiking, other areas.

I’m very adamant and I tell a lot of people, “Go do yoga. It’s amazing what it’ll do for you.” Dean does a great job of explaining everything, and he treats it like you’re right there with him

“Had shoulder surgery… and needed a SAFE way to get back to moving.”

Jason came to us after shoulder surgery, looking for something that wouldn’t wreck him or his ego. A year later? Stronger shoulders than before surgery, Back to consistent movement, A program that actually feels built for men. If it doesn’t work for your body, you won’t stick with it.

Just about a year ago, I actually got surgery on my right shoulder, and I was looking for a safe way to kind of slowly get back into exercise and movement, and Man Flow Yoga really was the perfect way to do that. I feel like my shoulders are really stronger than they were before the surgery. Another piece is knowing that this is tailored for men has just made my experience that much better. Even just referencing where to put your junk and things like that when you’re doing a certain pose makes me feel like, oh, this kind of workout is for me.

The honest truth is I’ve told my brother, brother-in-law, my barber, and of course, you kind of get some weird looks from the guys to be like, “Yoga?” Because I think there is this stereotype that yoga is not for men. I try and say, “No, this yoga, it’s designed for us.” I’ve told them about how it’s been helpful in all aspects of my life and kind of urged them to try it out for sure.

“Yoga wasn’t a manly thing.”

That’s what Man Flow Yoga member Chris thought too. But after years of sports, struggling with degenerative disc disease, and being diagnosed with arthritis in the knees he needed something different. At 62, lifting and cardio just meant more pain and more wear and tear. He didn’t need to beat himself up anymore, he needed a smarter way to train. And that’s when he found Man Flow Yoga.

My biggest reason for joining Man Flow Yoga, well, lots of pain. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. I have arthritis in my knees from years of sports and just being a guy and being a fool and tearing myself up. And I was looking for a mindset change. At 62, just lifting and doing cardio, just beating myself up, wasn’t getting it anymore. I knew of yoga, never wanted to try it. I always thought it wasn’t a manly thing to do.

So I started looking at yoga things, and I found Dean and Man Flow Yoga, and I loved it. I liked the fact that it was a guy teaching me as a guy with real guy problems. We’re not as flexible. And I feel like all the training is geared towards strengthening your mind, your muscles, less the wear and tear on the joints, and that’s what I needed.

"What Dean was doing was right in line with these highly skilled teachers and well-informed people who knew all about physiology."

Professor. Researcher. Deadline-driven. And a guy who needed a way to keep his yoga practice consistent when everything shut down. Bruce found Man Flow Yoga after doing “regular” yoga for years. What kept him around? Clear instruction, Smart programming that actually understands male bodies, Breathing techniques that legit helped his stress levels, and Options to match how his body feels.

My name’s Bruce, and I’m from Nashville, Tennessee. The way I got acquainted with Man Flow Yoga was through some advertising. I tried out a video that Dean had on Amazon Prime. But even before that, I have been doing yoga for a few years at the rec center at Vanderbilt University, where I’m a professor. But as things got completely shut down during COVID, was looking for other ways to be taught and to keep up in my yoga practice.

There was, on Facebook, an ad, and I said, “This guy looks familiar.” Then I realized it was the guy from the Prime video, and I was hooked. I had really benefited from excellent instructors at that rec center and discovered very quickly that what Dean was doing was right in line with these highly skilled teachers and well-informed people who knew all about physiology. And then Dean brought even the better angle for me as a guy.

I had been instructed elsewhere about breathing, but Dean is excellent. This really helps my stress levels. My work is doing a lot of research and writing, which actually is very solipsistic, but highly pressured, deadline-oriented work. And so all these different types of practices, I take advantage of all of them, just paying attention to my body on a given day and what I think might be of help to me, and I’m grateful to have benefited.

"You don’t have to 'feel your age.'"

Clayton just turned 60, and like a lot of guys, he was starting to notice it. He didn’t join Man Flow Yoga to become a yogi, he joined because he wants to stay as healthy as he possibly can. And he’s already seeing results. More flexibility than he had before. He can bend over and touch the floor without bending his knees. That’s not just a cool party trick, that’s real, practical strength.

My biggest reason for joining Men’s Flow Yoga is just to try and stay as healthy as I can. I turned 60 this year, and I groan and creak when I bend down or get out of bed in the morning. And so I just want to try and be as healthy as I possibly can. Already, I’ve noticed more flexibility than I had before. I can bend over and almost touch the floor without bending my knees. So that’s been really a good improvement.

If you’re an older man and you are looking for a way to become healthier, more flexible, then Men’s Flow Yoga is the way to do. It’s challenging, but yet it provides a good level of success at every step of the way. So I would encourage anybody to at least try it

“I had never done yoga before in my life…”

That’s how Jared started. March 2020. COVID hit. Gym closed. Still winter in New Hampshire. He needed something. Structure. Consistency. A reason to move. A coworker mentioned Man Flow Yoga. He tried a few routines. And he fell in love with it. Not because it was zen. Not because it was trendy. But because it worked.

My name is Jared and I am from East Hamstead, New Hampshire. It was March 2020. COVID hit, still winter up in New Hampshire. Couldn’t go to the gym and a co-orker of mine had recommended Manflow Yoga. So, I checked out a few routines and I had never done yoga before in my life. I fell in love with it. I [music] loved the different options that you guys offered. That’s why I signed up. I had a history of not following through.

For whatever reason, when I started doing Manflow yoga, I felt not only obligated to do it, but I felt like I needed to do it every morning. It gave me structure during co, which was super helpful. And I think it’s the instruction, it’s the accountability, it’s the diversity in program offerings. So, for me, it just really has given me the obvious satisfaction of knowing that I’m exercising almost every day and I’ve gotten stronger and I feel healthier.

I recommend it to everyone I come across. It’s been life-changing and I haven’t looked back ever

"I no longer have as much stiffness in my back as previously."

Stiff back? Bad posture? Feel like your body is getting “older” faster than it should? That’s exactly where David was a few years ago. He joined Man Flow Yoga during the COVID lockdown while living in Sicily. The gyms were closed, he was still doing cardio and weights, but he needed something to keep his body moving well.

I’m living in Italy on the wonderful island of Sicily. I joined ManFlowYoga because it was it during the COVID lockdown, so most of the gyms were closed. I had managed to find a way to do my cardio and to do my weight training, but I really needed somewhere I could do yoga. And so, ManFlowYoga was perfect. What I’ve noticed most is because I’m doing the yoga classes regularly that I no longer have as much stiffness in my back as previously.

It’s become much better. I no longer slouch as much as I used to. So, thanks guys, and hope somebody else loves this too.

“I signed up for better mobility and my back pain disappeared.”

Chris from Washington joined Man Flow Yoga to improve mobility and balance but it ended up doing even more. He started with a bad back, and now he doesn’t wake up with back pain or avoid activities anymore. In fact, he’s heading out to backpack the Bitterroots this August and feels great about it. Just follow along, do the work, and before you know it, the workout’s done.

Chris from the state of Washington. I signed up for Man Flow Yoga to get an overall improved mobility, improved balance, and it has exceeded my expectations. I got into it with a bad back, and that has gone away. I don’t wake up with back pain anymore. I don’t avoid activities because of back pain. In fact, I’m backpacking into the Bitterroots in August, and I’m very comfortable having that on my schedule.

I was really surprised. I love the way that Dean talks you through everything. He doesn’t expect you to have the prior knowledge of the names of poses and that type of thing. And by the time he gets done talking, you’re done with the program, so it’s actually kind of nice
