How Man Flow Yoga Helped A Former Minor League Hockey Player Get Back In Shape After Becoming A Dad (Member Highlight: Daniel H.)

After joining Man Flow Yoga, Daniel experienced a massive “win.” Before joining Man Flow Yoga, he realized that whenever he ran more than a mile, his right knee gave out. Besides being a former hockey player, Daniel is also an avid OCR (Obstacle Course Race) runner. And his right knee giving out whenever he ran more than a mile spelled trouble for his athletic career.

And so, Daniel originally signed up for the Bulletproof Your Knees program. Besides helping him revitalize his knee (and be able to run more than a mile without his right knee giving out), consistently following this program also helped him rekindle his love for exercise.

The gym always rubbed 56-year-old Man Flow Yoga Member, Michael, the wrong way. He’s not a big Bro Culture guy, and going to the gym always gave him some trepidation. Instead, running was his main workout modality.

Well, after stumbling on Man Flow Yoga’s YouTube channel, he quickly realized how effective this style of yoga was. He signed up for our Members’ Area shortly after discovering Man Flow Yoga, and it’s been a key ingredient of his exercise routine for over 3 years.

Robert A., a first responder, first joined Man Flow Yoga about two years ago. At the time, he needed a change to his workouts. His job requires his body to go from cold to 200 miles an hour at the snap of a finger and he often has to lift heavy things when responding to emergencies. 

He knew that yoga could help his joints feel better and help him slim down, so he could be better at his job and enjoy his hobbies more. But he’s also the type of guy who didn’t feel comfortable going to a yoga class. Not only are in-person yoga classes dominated by women, but Robert even built a gym in his basement so he wouldn’t have to go to the gym…

How Man Flow Yoga Helped James Run The Fastest Mile of his Life (Member Highlight: James B.)

Before James discovered Man Flow Yoga, he had a unique yoga class he attended: He did yoga with a group of other guys in his female yoga instructor’s basement. And this gave James his first taste of why men need to approach yoga differently than women do. Men, on average, aren’t as flexible as women—and trying to mimic a female yoga instructor can actually cause injuries for men (instead of helping them avoid them, as yoga should do).

James went to his yoga weekly with a few other guys, where they followed a more male-centric yoga program. But then, after about a year of this routine, the group broke up and James felt lost. Man Flow Yoga Made Lee, A Wildlife and Landscape Photographer, More Flexible At 54 Than He’s Ever Been (Member Highlight: Lee H.)

Lee works as a wildlife and landscape photographer, so his livelihood requires him to get into awkward positions to capture the perfect, most breathtaking pictures. And so, he thought that adding a yoga routine to his fitness regimen would help him stay injury-free and flexible enough to do his job.

Lee’s never been particularly limber. After long days of shooting, the stiffness and tightness he felt in his muscles drove him crazy. So when his wife became a certified yoga instructor, it was natural that he started doing more yoga.

Man Flow Yoga was the perfect type of yoga for his specific goals!
